🛡️ Trust & Pricing

We promise your price
won’t change. Ever.

Wave’s June 2026 changes didn’t just break features — they broke trust. If you’re re-shopping accounting tools right now, the honest question isn’t “is it cheaper?” It’s: “what stops you from doing the same thing in 18 months?”

This page is our answer. Not a footnote — a dated, public commitment we can’t quietly take back. If we break it, it’s on the internet forever. That’s the point.

Your price is locked. To you.

Subscribe to Pro at $12/month and that's your price for as long as you stay. If we ever raise prices, it applies to new customers only — never to you. No grandfathering windows, no migration emails, no "upgrade to keep your features."

The Free plan stays free.

CSV import from any bank, invoicing, and the dashboard are free, forever. Limits exist (100 transactions/month) so the free tier can keep existing — if we ever tune them, you hear it from us first, in writing, 60 days in advance.

Your data is yours. Always.

Export everything in one click, any time, even after you cancel. We never hold data hostage — and we never hold money at all. No frozen accounts, no funds held, no support chatbots-only.

60 days' written notice. No exceptions.

If a change is ever coming, you'll hear it from us by email, in writing — not from a forum thread. That's the notice we'd want ourselves, and the notice Wave didn't give its users.

Note: the “all features free” launch period ends September 30, 2026 — as announced from day one. A planned expiry announced in advance isn’t a paywall; it’s the difference between Wave’s move and ours. Users who joined during launch are eligible for grandfathered pricing.

Why we can afford to say this

Promises are only worth something if the business model backs them up. Here’s ours:

AI categorization runs on a small fractionof what a Pro subscriber pays. The math works — we don’t need price increases to survive, and we never needed to monetize bank connections, payment processing, or your data.

  • Independent, bootstrapped. No investors to satisfy, no growth-at-all-costs, no exit timeline.
  • Subscriptions only. We earn from software — not from your data, not from payment fees, not from holding your funds. Our incentives line up with yours.
  • The free plan is a door, not a trap. It costs us a little to run — that’s marketing spend, budgeted on purpose. We’d rather have 10,000 happy free users who recommend us than 1,000 trapped ones.

What we will never do

Specific beats vague. Here’s the exact list:

Move features behind a paywall after you've relied on them

Change your price without telling you first

Sell or share your data

Make you jump through hoops to leave

Hold your funds or freeze your account

This is a public commitment

Archived, dated, and linked from our pricing pageand footer. We’d look stupid breaking it — and that’s exactly the point. After what Wave did to its free plan, trust is the product category now. See how we compare in our full Wave comparison.

All Pro features free through September 30, 2026. Early users keep grandfathered pricing.
