What connects to Tally Assistant, and what deliberately does not. Data moves in through files and screenshots, and out through CSV, PDF, and PPT. There is no bank-credential connection, no always-on sync, and no QuickBooks bridge, so this page lists those limits as plainly as the supported paths.
Tally Assistant connects to your financial life through files and OAuth, not bank logins. Upload bank CSV, OFX, or QBO exports from any bank (12 banks have step-by-step guides), import PayPal and Stripe CSVs as-is, connect Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive with OAuth to pick files directly, and turn payment screenshots from eight platforms into transactions via OCR. Data leaves as CSV, PDF, and PPT. There is no real-time bank feed, no QuickBooks or Xero sync, and no Zapier connector, because the product is file-import based by design.
Bank and payment-platform connections are one-directional and file-based. Cloud drives are the only always-on connections, and they are a Pro feature. Nothing pulls fresh bank transactions on its own, and there is no public API today.
Upload the file your bank exports, in any of the three common formats. The AI detects each bank's layout, categorizes the transactions, and matches them to clients and categories for review. See the bank guides for step-by-step exports.
Browse bank guidesBoth platforms export transaction CSVs. Upload them as-is without reformatting. Payouts, fees, and refunds come through as separate line items and land in the right categories.
CSV import detailsA screenshot of any payment confirmation, from PayPal, Stripe, Venmo, Cash App, Wise, Revolut, Alipay, WeChat Pay, or a bank app, becomes a transaction. The AI reads the amount, sender, date, and currency, and the image stays attached as documentation. OCR covers 50+ languages.
Receipt scanner detailsPhotograph any expense receipt and the amount, merchant, and date are extracted. The image stays attached to the record, which is what tax documentation needs. Works with receipts in 50+ languages.
Receipt scanner detailsConnect any of the three cloud drives with OAuth and pick files straight from your Drive to import, or export files back into it. OAuth means no password is ever shared. Cloud drive connections are a Pro feature, managed from your dashboard settings.
Export all income, all expenses, or a full ledger as CSV, organized by category and client. This is the file you hand to an accountant, and it opens in Excel, Numbers, or Google Sheets.
Every invoice renders as a professional PDF (or PNG) with your logo, tax, and a PayPal payment button. Save it, email it, or share the link.
Invoice detailsThe AI builds a slide-deck report of your income and expenses by month or category, converted to one base currency. Useful for investor updates, partner meetings, or your own review.
Multi-currency transactions keep their original currency, and reports convert to your base currency using daily ECB reference rates from the Frankfurter API.
Multi-currency detailsInvoices, payment reminders, and notifications are delivered through Resend. Invoices arrive as a professional email with a PDF attachment and payment button.
Accounts are managed by Clerk with email, Google, and GitHub sign-in. Passwords are never stored by Tally Assistant.
These are real gaps, stated plainly. There is no real-time bank API connection, so bank imports are always manual file uploads, even with a cloud drive connected. There is no two-way sync with QuickBooks, Xero, or any accountant's ledger software, so the CSV export is the handoff. There is no Zapier or Make connector and no public API. If any of these change, the changelog will announce it, and this page will be updated the same day.
No. Imports are file-based. You download the CSV, OFX, or QBO file from your bank's website and upload it. Tally Assistant never asks for or stores bank credentials, and there is no always-on bank connection that could be compromised.
Any bank that exports CSV, OFX, or QBO files. We publish step-by-step guides for Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Capital One, American Express, Wise, Revolut, N26, Monzo, Starling, PayPal, and Alipay. If your bank is not listed, the upload still works as long as it can export one of those three formats.
No. There is no real-time bank feed. You re-upload the latest file when you want fresh transactions. This is a deliberate trade-off: file-based import means we never hold bank credentials and there is no connection a breach could abuse.
You connect each drive once from your dashboard settings using OAuth, which authorizes access without ever sharing your password. Once connected, you can pick files directly from your drive to import and export files back into it. Connections are a Pro feature, and you can disconnect a drive at any time from the same settings page.
Not directly. Data goes out as CSV (income, expenses, or both), PDF invoices, and PPT reports, and an accountant can open all three. If your accountant uses a specific ledger system, the CSV export is the bridge. There is no one-click sync, and we do not claim one.
Not at this time. Data moves in through files and screenshots, and out through CSV, PDF, and PPT exports. If we ship an API or automation connectors, the changelog will say so.
